RMS:
Using open source plans to create a pixel painter, I wanted to be able to make works of sculpture that are so ephemeral that they are difficult to see. I began to document these light objects in various places using long exposure photography. In using this tool I began realize just how much our eyes are cameras. Like seeing through the slits of a fence as you drive past it at 30 miles per hour, our minds and eyes are extraordinary at constructing images. I have begun using this tool not for just photographing, but for performances where an after image is placed on the audiences retina. Allowing them to experience the image with their eyes shut, a space where visual art rarely exists, and gives everyone's mind space for interpretation. They are then encouraged to share their experiences and discuss how they are different. this takes the object of the image from something that is a matter of fact to a mater of concern
